Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Monday responded to claims that former employers Paris Saint-Germain are better off without him.
Mbappé of course brought a close to his long-term stint at the Parc des Princes last summer, departing on a free transfer for Spanish champions Real Madrid.
After something of a shaky start to life in La Liga, the 26-year-old has since turned things around in impressive fashion, boasting 31 goals across all competitions to date.
And yet, whilst Mbappé thrives in one of Europe’s top leagues, so too do his ex-club, PSG, in another.
Luis Enrique’s troops have, all of a sudden, established themselves as one of the very best sides on the continent, looking like legitimate contenders to go all the way in this season’s Champions League.
During an interview with Le Parisien on Monday, the suggestion that PSG are simply a better team without him was, in turn, put to Mbappé himself.
And the gifted attacker provided a classy response, explaining:
“People say PSG is better without me? It’s not something that concerns me… I watch all football matches and obviously PSG’s too. I really wish them the best. But I’m focused on Real Madrid.”
