La Liga has filed a complaint with the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) regarding the letter published by Real Madrid attacking the refereeing body after the match against Espanyol (1-0) at Cornella, reports COPE.
This was done after the request of the rest of the La Liga clubs, the report adds.
Following the 0-1 defeat against Espanyol, Real Madrid lodged a formal complaint with the RFEF over the refereeing system in La Liga.
In the letter, the Madrid club demanded the release of the referees’ audio recordings, specifically of two key moments – the non-red card for Carlos Romero and the disallowed goal for Vinicius Jr.
In addition to that, Los Blancos also called for a “structural reform” of the Spanish refereeing system, accusing it of being “tainted,” “corrupt,” and “fraudulent,” using terms such as “adulteration” and “manipulation.”
Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, had already made his intention to report the letter public after a meeting with the Referees’ Technical Association (CTA), RFEF, and other Spanish clubs last week – a summit which Real Madrid decided to skip.

“We are certainly going to file a complaint, just as we have filed a complaint against Real Madrid Television. We are going to see if the complaint is against the club, against the person who signed the letter, against the board of directors,” he said.
“We are analysing the matter at a legal level, but obviously this type of report cannot be allowed because it is falsehoods or half-truths that are intended to influence certain matters that cannot be. He has lost his mind.”
As mentioned above, the complaint has been filed after request from other clubs, with many said to have grown fed up of Real Madrid.
In fact, Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido Carrasco has been very vocal about the matter, expressing his displeasure about Los Blancos’ handling of the situation.
After the complaint has been filed, the RFEF Disciplinary Committee will request a response from Real Madrid and will open an investigation, which could lead to a sanction against the Spanish capital club.
