Patrick Dorgu was part of the Lecce matchday squad for the final time on Friday evening, but he had to watch on as his teammates rose to a 3-1 win away against Parma in Serie A on Friday.

Dorgu was a surprise inclusion in the Lecce squad for Friday’s game against Parma, as he and the club had already agreed a deal for him to join Manchester United. It is understood that he will travel over to the UK to complete the final formalities of his transfer before the Serie A and Premier League windows close on Monday.

Though he was included among the substitutes, Dorgu was not picked for the starting XI, nor did he come on at any point against Parma, which means he is well rested ahead of his move to Manchester.

It also means that his final game with Lecce ended in a victory. Marco Giampaolo’s side had been beaten 4-0 by reigning Serie A champions Inter last weekend, which was Dorgu’s last on-pitch appearance.

The 20-year-old had previously started in every league match that he was available for this season. He had only been left out of the starting XI once previously this term, which came four games into the season when he was serving a one-match suspension.
