Manchester United have won each of their last three meetings with Leicester, three of which have come this season, last enjoying a longer winning streak against the Foxes in 2003.

Leicester City vs Manchester United Preview

After a season-saving success on Thursday night, can Manchester United keep the on-field positivity going? In mid-week, the Red Devils made it through to the Europa League quarter-finals, ultimately swatting Real Sociedad aside. La Real were reduced to ten-men on the hour mark, which certainly helped, but the night belonged to Bruno Fernandes, scorer of a hat-trick at Old Trafford, before Diogo Dalot rubber stamped the 4-1 victory in stoppage time. Rúben Amorim's team will now take on Olympique Lyonnais in the last eight, with the first leg in France coming up on 10 April.

Europe is certainly the priority for Man United, considering they're down in 14th in the Premier League, a whopping 11 points adrift the final potential European spot. The Red Devils are though unbeaten in three league games, their longest streak since December, most-recently holding Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last Sunday, very unfortunate not to win that one. So now, will Amorim's side collect three points in the East Midlands, thereby avoiding yet another superfluous set back?

Leicester City meantime appear destine for an immediate return to the Championship, considering their horrendous form. The Foxes were beaten 1-0 at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea last Sunday, their fifth successive defeat, failing to score in any of these matches, losing 12 of their last 13 overall. This means they start the weekend six points from safety, albeit that gap could be wider by the time this Sunday night extravaganza gets underway.

Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy beat Leicester twice during his four-match interim stint as Man United boss in November, surely a factor in him earning his current post. Nevertheless, he's subsequently won only two of 15 league matches in charge of the Foxes, making him a man under enormous pressure. So, can Leicester spark their survival bid into life with a priceless victory at the King Power?

Leicester City Team News

Harry Souttar and Abdul Fatawu are sidelined long-term but, in some much-needed good news, Ricardo Pereira is back, making his first appearance since 2 November due to a hamstring injury last Sunday.

Elsewhere, in an attempt to salvage their season, Ruud van Nistelrooy switched to a back five against Chelsea, with Luke Thomas as a left-side centre-back, so will he persist with this experiment here too, despite defat at Stamford Bridge?

Leicester City predicted lineup vs Manchester United: (5-4-1-2): Hermansen; Justin, Coady, Faes, Thomas, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Soumaré, El Khannouss; J Ayew, Vardy.

Leicester City Player to Watch vs Manchester United

Mads Hermansen denied Cole Palmer from the penalty spot last Sunday, taking his tally to 82 saves for the season in West London, and they'll need him to be at his best here too.

Manchester United Team News

Rúben Amorim is without Altay Bayındır, Tom Heaton, Lisandro Martínez, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad due to injury, while Patrick Dorgu is serving the last of his three-match suspension.

In better news, Mason Mount is back in training, most-recently featuring on 15 December due to a thigh injury, albeit he's not likely to change that fact just yet. Compared to Thursday night's team, Victor Lindelöf could return to defence, alongside Ayden Heaven, the teenager set to keep his place.

Fit again Toby Collyer came off the bench against Real Sociedad, while Manuel Ugarte was an unused substitute, but Casemiro is likely to keep his place, after earning a standing ovation when he was replaced in mid-week. Lastly, after impressing off the bench in recent weeks, Chido Obi-Martin is in line for more minutes, ineligible to feature in UEFA competition.

Manchester United Player to Watch vs Leicester City

Rasmus Højlund is now 21 games without a goal, most-recently scoring on 12 December against Viktoria Plzeň, but he surely won't get a better opportunity to end this barren run than here, given Leicester's terrible form.

Leicester City vs Manchester United Prediction

Leicester lose every week without scoring, and we're forecasting that this trend will continue, even though Man United are far from an unstoppable force themselves: Leicester City 0-2 Manchester United.
