Bayern desperately wanted to secure the Bundesliga title today in Leipzig - even without their star-striker Harry Kane who was suspended because of his 5th yellow card of the season last week against Mainz.

Leipzig however, were not going to roll out the red carpet for the Bavarians - they wanted to make their lives difficult and ideally even crash Bayern's title party as a whole.

Here is how the game played out:

1st half:

Leipzig got off to a hot start: Haidara had a chance to put his team in front in the 2nd minute of the game, but Bayern's goalkeeper Urbig, who might return to the bench next week since captain Manuel Neuer is almost back to full strength, denies him his goal.

But in the 11th minute, Leipzig were able to finish the job - and Urbig was partially to blame: it was a counter attack, Xavi played a great through ball with the outside of his foot towards Šeško who also used the outside of his foot to score from long range.

Urbig was too far out and slipped on the wet grass - ironically, it looked like a past mistake from Manuel Neuer himself. Just like in the first matchup between Leipzig and Bayern this season, Šeško is the one to open the score. 1-0 to Leipzig.

Raum's motivational speech and will to crash Bayern's title party has reached the whole team; Leipzig was a totally different team to the one which lost 0-4 against Frankfurt last week.

Bayern on the other hand were clearly missing key players, at times it seemed like some players had different ideas than others when going forwards.

Leipzig scored their 2nd goal of the game in the 39th minute: David Raum crosses the ball from a free kick into the box, where Lukas Klostermann is there to head the ball into the net.

The halftime score: 2-0 to Leipzig, after they've played one of their best halfs of football in 2024/25.

2nd half:

Bayern came out angrily and it showed in the 62nd minute: Eric Dier, who will leave Bayern after this season, got one back for the Bavarians after scoring a header from a corner.

Just one minute later, Michael Olise was able to finish a counter attack and equalized the score! Could Bayern actually turn around the game in the 2nd half?

The 2nd half was totally different to the 1st half: Bayern were able to get into far better scoring positions and put far more pressure on Leipzig than in the first 45 minutes.

In the 83rd minute, Bayern finally went in front! After dominating the 2nd half of the game, Bayern rewarded themselves: Leroy Sané was at the end of a long cross and put the goal in the back of the net with a hard-drilled shot.

Bayern fans already started using their fireworks in the stadium - everbody thought Bayern would become champions after Sané's goal.

Harry Kane, who was in the stands for the game, came down to celebrate his first career title with his teammates. Everything was set for a Bavarian party evening in Leipzig - until the 95th minute.

In what was the final attack of the game, Leipzig equalized the score thanks to a chipped shot from Yussuf Poulsen. This felt like the absoulte party-crash - and it was the final moment of a very memorable Bundesliga game.
