Brentford loanee Ashley Hay scored his first goal in senior football to complete a dramatic come-from-behind 3-2 victory for Cheltenham Town against Barrow on Saturday afternoon.

Introduced from the bench early in the second half, the 21-year-old forward controlled a cross from Ethan Williams before firing in the winner from close range with just under 15 minutes remaining.

Fellow Bee loanee Val Adedokun was also involved for the Robins at EV Charger Points Stadium.

The defender played the full 90 minutes and created the goal that got his side back into the game, with the Cumbrians looking set to claim the victory having made it 2-0 early in the second half.

Adedokun's cross from the left was met by Matty Taylor, whose initial header was saved before he tucked home the rebound.

Taylor netted Cheltenham’s second, too, before Hay struck to secure a three points which leaves the Robins sat 13th in League Two.

Elsewhere in the fourth tier, Michael Olakigbe started for Chesterfield as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at table-toppers Walsall.

Olakigbe played 89 minutes before being replaced by Liam Mandeville.

In the Championship, Jayden Meghoma started for Preston North End as they held Lancashire rivals and promotion-chasing Burnley to a goalless draw at Deepdale.

The result means that Meghoma and his colleagues have kept three successive clean sheets across all competitions.

Myles Peart-Harris was an unused substitute for Swansea City, who lost 3-1 at Stoke City in a game that will be remembered for the Potters’ Lewis Baker scoring from inside his own half.

Ryan Trevitt and Tony Yogane featured as Exeter City recorded their first League One victory since Boxing Day with a 1-0 win at Cambridge United.

Trevitt played just over an hour before being replaced by former Bee Reece Cole, while Yogane came off the bench on 77 minutes, with the Grecians now seven points above the relegation zone.

Frank Onyeka and Mads Roerslev were both involved in Bundesliga action for their respective loan sides over the weekend.

Onyeka started in Augsburg’s goalless home draw against RB Leipzig while Roerslev was a half-time substitute for Wolfsburg, who came from behind to win 2-1 at Stuttgart.

Ellery Balcombe was in goal for Motherwell’s 3-0 home loss to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership while fellow keeper Ben Winterbottom was between the sticks for AFC Fylde, who drew 1-1 at home to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League.
