Inter Milan are just six matches away from equalling their total number of matches from last season in the 2024-25 campaign.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908. They note that the Nerazzurri have already played 43 matches.

Inter Milan always knew that this was going to be a busy season.

While the Nerazzurri managed to avoid a playoff round in the Champions League, they had two extra matches to deal with in the “league phase.”

Meanwhile, Inter will have to think about the Club World Cup at the end of the campaign.

Therefore, the preparations always focused on squad depth and keeping focus while playing virtually every three days, week in and week out.

Inter Milan Close To Equalling Last Season’s Match Total In 2024-25

Last season, Inter Milan played a total of 49 matches across all competitions.

And this time out, the Nerazzurri will equal that total by mid-April.

Inter have made it past the Coppa Italia round of sixteen, which they did not do last campaign. The same is true in the Champions League.

Those are of course positives for Inter, whose ambition is to fight for trophies.

But they come with the major drawback of an ever-expanding fixture list.

Inter Milan have already played 43 matches across all competitions this season.

And they will be playing quite a few.

With two-legged knockout ties against AC Milan in the Coppa and Bayern Munich in the Champions League in addition to the Serie A schedule, Inter will hit 52 by the end of April.
