Kylian Mbappé’s time at Real Madrid has been far from smooth since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The 25-year-old forward’s struggles in the Spanish capital seem to be stacking up.
Mbappé had a tough El Clásico debut on October 26, with Real Madrid suffering a heavy 4-0 loss to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu. Just days later, the difficulties continued as Los Blancos were beaten 3-1 by AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
On Wednesday, Mbappé had an opportunity to shine against Liverpool, especially with Vinicius Junior sidelined, allowing him to play in his preferred role. However, the match quickly turned into a nightmare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

French football legend Michel Platini recently spoke with L’Equipe and weighed in with his thoughts on the Frenchman’s struggles since moving from PSG to Real Madrid.
“I think he’s lost on the pitch,” Platini told the French media outlet. “A great champion always rises from the ashes. That’s what will make Kylian a great champion… this will just be a small dip, for French football and for him.”
Soon, the argument about adaptation will fade, and people will begin to wonder if Mbappé’s dream transfer could end up being a nightmare.
