“We played a good game, especially in the second half. We struggled to score in the first half, but we created many chances. Today we were very good with and without the ball. This game will give us confidence to continue improving,” said the club captain.

Analyzing the match in detail, Modric noted that the team’s performance was commendable from start to finish. He recognised that while the first half was somewhat challenging in terms of finding the back of the net, the overall gameplay was strong.

“The team played very well and we had a great game from start to finish. In the first half we had a bit of trouble finding the goal, but we played very well.

“But physicality and quality are key against teams that sit back. They scored first, but we didn’t let ourselves down and we kept playing,” he noted.

“It says a lot not to lose matches for so many days, but we have to keep going. This is due to the character, quality and commitment of the team. In addition, everyone is prepared when it is their turn to play; those are the keys.”
