Manchester City have joined the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, a report has claimed.
Larsson, 20, has shone since his move to Germany from Malmo in 2023, racking up six goals for Eintracht in all competitions this season, and his form has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
City scouts are no strangers to Eintracht games, having snapped up Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush during the January transfer window in a deal worth £59m, and Sky Sports Germany state City could look to bring another player over in the summer.
Larsson and Eintracht are aware of interest from City who, after focusing on their defence and attack in January, are likely to shift attention to rebuilding in midfield this summer.
Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic and even Bernardo Silva have all been the subject of exit speculation after manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the ageing core of his squad may need to be broken up this summer.
Should City opt to move for Larsson, it would cost marginally less than their January deal for Marmoush. Eintracht officials are ready to demand €60m (£50.2m) to part ways with the youngster.
The Bundesliga side will not entertain low offers for Larsson, whose contract runs until the summer of 2029. Marmoush's January move has already set them up financially and there is also significant interest in striker Hugo Ekitike, who is expected to move to the Premier League this summer.
