The Daily Mail have now added that the club coaches have been impressed with another young ace coming up through the ranks at a rapid pace.

Jayden Ngwashi, who is only 16, made his U18 as well as U21 debut this term, playing the full 90 minutes for Adam Lawrence’s side against Middlesbrough, a game in which the young Reds emerged 3-1 winners.

Ngwashi impressed coaches

His performance was so impressive that he was called up to the reserves the following week for the United U21s’ clash against West Bromwich Albion.

He was introduced in the 61st minute in place of Godwill Kukonki, who has already earned Amorim’s praise and has been part of several training sessions with the senior team.

The 16-year-old has played one game for the Italy U16s, the country of his birth, before representing the England U17 side in four international friendlies.

Both United and England youth coaches feel Ngwashi can go right to the top and the Red Devils will continue to try and accelerate his development in the months to come.

Ngwashi U21 debut

“Here’s one to watch: 16-year-old Jayden Ngwashi. Only a matter of weeks after the teenage defender made his league debut for the Under 18s, Ngwashi was promoted to play for United’s Under 21s in Premier League 2.

“Figures at United, as well as in the youth ranks of the England setup, are big admirers of Ngwashi’s game and there is a great deal of hope about his ceiling as a player as he continues to be accelerated through the age groups.”

Amorim has not been shy to throw in youngsters into the deep end this term with the 20-time English league champions ranking second for minutes handed to teenage starlets.

With former Arsenal starlet Heaven currently out injured and there being a lack of alternatives, it won’t be a surprise to see Ngwashi possibly included in senior training sessions.
