Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Ipswich Town star Liam Delap.

Manager Ruben Amorim wanted reinforcements in the January transfer window, but a lack of funds meant they could only sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

The Premier League giants are keen to bring in a new striker in the summer, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to impress.

According to i Paper, United are weighing up a move for Delap. The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and registered two assists in 24 league appearances this season.

United would have to pay around £40 million to seal a move for Delap, who has been described as a ‘special talent’ by Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the centre-forward due to provide competition to Nicolas Jackson.

Manchester City have a £40m buyback clause and could decide to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium.

Finances are tight at Old Trafford, but they could increase their spending power by selling homegrown talents such as Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

The club are also open to offers for Casemiro, but he has no intention of leaving Old Trafford as he wants to see out his contract that expires in 2026.
