Manchester United are keeping tabs on Olympiacos striking sensation Charalampos Kostoulas ahead of the January transfer window, according to the Sun.
The 17-year-old Greece under-21 international forward has attracted the Red Devils and other European bigwigs after his impressive campaign with the under-19s last term and his current run with the senior team.
Kostoulas played a key role in helping the Olympiacos reserve squad win the UEFA Youth League last term, weighing in with five goals and two assists in eight games to emerge as the best young player in Greece’s second division, where the B team compete, and Man United are now scouting him.
The Red Devils sent scouts to Piraeus to watch him in action against FC Twente in the Europa League last Thursday, and he did impress, putting in a man-of-the-match performance in the goalless draw and winning a spot kick that Ayoub El Kaabi wasted.
Man United are not the only ones interested in recruiting the services of Kostoulas, with Bayern Munich, Juventus, Fiorentina and Borussia Monchengladbach also keeping tabs on the teenage sensation.
He has two goals and an assist in ten league matches and the Old Trafford club believe he could be a huge player in the future given his huge potential.
While landing him next month or in the summer would be cheap as his current deal runs out in 2026, Olympiacos want to offer him a new contract once he turns 18 in May having become a key player for the first-team under manager Jose Luis Mendilibar.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo have become key members of the senior team at Man United, while many youngsters were recruited at youth team level last summer.
More young signings are expected going forward, and a move for the next big thing in Greek football could now be on the cards.
