Manchester United won 2-1 against Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth round at Old Trafford on Friday evening.

United manager Ruben Amorim handed Patrick Dorgu his debut but unexpectedly placed him at right wing-back.

Noussair Mazraoui filled in for Lisandro Martinez at left centre-back.

United played a dull first half, leaving the home crowd vocal in their disappointment with a chorus of boos.

The Foxes took the lead before the break via Bobby Decordova-Ried.

Joshua Zirkzee brought United level in the 68th minute with a simple tap-in finish into an empty net.

Harry Maguire secured United’s progression to the next round with a last-minute winner.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 6/10

Onana couldn’t have done anything about the opening goal and did not have much to do for the rest of the clash.

Leny Yoro – 5/10

Yoro was beaten too easily for the first goal.

Harry Maguire – 7/10

The England international has always been a dominant force in the air, and United reaped the rewards as he powered in a dramatic 93rd-minute winner.

Noussair Mazraoui – 7/10

Mazraoui had a rough start but improved after shifting to the right side of the back-three defence.

He made a perfectly timed last-man challenge to deny Leicester a dangerous counter-attack.

Patrick Dorgu – 6/10

The first surprise was his placement at right-wing-back. The second came when he was substituted at half-time despite being one of United’s better players.

Diogo Dalot – 4/10

Neither effective in attack or defence. Even after Dorgu’s arrival, he is still playing as left-wing-back – a poor choice by Amorim.

Manuel Ugarte – 5/10

He gave away the possession through which Leicester scored. A poor challenge earned him a deserved booking late in the game.

Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

He played a few long passes to switch flanks, but United need those on a more regular basis. His magnificent cross set up the winning goal.

Kobbie Mainoo – 4/10

Started again as an attacking midfielder but barely got involved in the game. Amorim may need to rethink where he is best effective.

Amad Diallo – 5/10

Diallo often took too many touches of the ball to slow the pace of the attack.

Rasmus Hojlund – 6/10

He left Wout Faes on the floor with a clever dummy. His flick shot rebounded and fell to Zirkzee for the equaliser.

Substitutions

Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10

Garnacho nearly scored, but his shot was cleared off the line. His directness and pace played a key role in United’s equaliser.

He dragged his shot wide instead of passing after a quick exchange with Dalot.

Joshua Zirkzee – 7/10

Although he scored into an empty net, Amorim will be thrilled to see one of his strikers finally on the scoresheet.

Casemiro – N/A

Too late to rate.
