One transfer story that has dominated the headlines this week is the reported interest of Manchester City in signing Omar Marmoush. Marmoush has starred for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season. He has scored 18 goals and added 12 assists so far this season. That form has put him firmly on Manchester City’s radar. Now a new report indicates that City are getting close to sealing an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign the Egyptian international. It appears that City may be close to landing the player that will immediately improve their attacking stocks.
Simon Jones has reported for the Daily Mail that Manchester City are progressing towards an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for forward Omar Marmoush. Furthermore, Jones reports that informal talks between City and Eintracht Frankfurt are continuing and a deal is expected to be reached in the coming days. Simon Jones adds that a fee of around £50 million is expected to be the fee for City to sign Marmoush. Jack Gaughan has reported on X that Marmoush wants to join Manchester City. He adds that City are currently working on securing a deal for the Egyptian.
Based on the reports from Simon Jones and Jack Gaughan it appears to be only a matter of time before Manchester City can agree on a fee with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian international would immediately improve Pep Guardiola’s attacking options. Marmoush is a quality player and his versatility would give Pep Guardiola an added option up front. Manchester City have been screaming out for another attacking player all season. The sale of Julian Alvarez last summer did weaken their attacking options. Now it seems that City are close to landing one of their top January targets. If they can seal a deal for Marmoush it will be a massive boost to City’s prospects this season.
It now remains to be seen if or when Manchester City can agree on a transfer fee with Eintracht Frankfurt for Omar Marmoush. But now it appears to be only a matter of time before they do. Then it would appear that City will move on to other transfer targets once a move for Marmoush is agreed. A midfielder and a defender look to be the next areas of Pep Guardiola’s squad that need bolstering.
