Manchester City pushing hard to convince Florian Wirtz to join | OneFootball

Manchester City have some work to do if they are to get a deal to sign Florian Wirtz (22) over the line. As reported earlier this week by Sports Zone, Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen regarding the signature of the Germany international. However, a deal is far from done.

The publication added that Wirtz is not convinced by the project at Manchester City. In an ideal world, the playmaker wants to join Bayern Munich, however, there is not yet any agreement between the Bavarian club and Bayer Leverkusen. Naturally, the latter are keen to sell the player abroad rather than strengthening a domestic rival.

Sports Zone now understands that, despite Wirtz’s preference to join Bayern Munich, or even Real Madrid (soon to be managed by Xabi Alonso), who are also in the race, Manchester City are pushing hard to convince the attacking midfielder and steal a march on their high-profile competitors.
