Marcus Rashford is to undergo a medical at Aston Villa before joining on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the season.
The 27-year-old has been frozen out at Old Trafford by Ruben Amorim ever since he was dropped for the Manchester Derby in mid-December.
With Amorim's relationship with Rashford seemingly broken, after the Portuguese's stinging criticism of his efforts in training, Villa have jumped to the head of the queue to sign the inside forward after weeks of speculation.
It was revealed on Saturday that Rashford was close to moving to Villa Park on a loan deal that would include an option to buy, with the two teams thrashing out the finer details in regards to wage contribution and a figure for a permanent transfer.
Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement has been reached, allowing Rashford to undergo a medical before completing the move. Villa have agreed to pay 70% of his wages, which total at least £325,000-per-week, and they may will be able to make him a permanent member of their squad for around £40m.
Rashford would ink a three-and-a-half-year deal were that to happen, joining a Villa team who are on the up under Unai Emery. The 2-0 defeat to Wolves was a blip in what's been another tremendous season for the Midlands club, who finished inside the top eight of the Champions League table to automatically qualify for the round of 16.
Villa sit eighth in the Premier League table, four points fourth-placed Manchester City, and four places and eight points ahead of United.
