Olympique de Marseille are stepping up their pursuit of Brighton and Hove Albion forward Evan Ferguson (20), according to a report from Foot Mercato, however, they may face some severe competition from Premier League clubs.
Ferguson has struggled for game time this season, a result of frequent injury problems but also a lack of confidence from the new manager at Brighton, Fabian Hürzeler. Brighton are open to loaning out the Ireland international this month and Marseille have a strong interest in acquiring his services.
Whilst they are yet to submit an offer, Foot Mercato understands that they are strongly considering doing so with Roberto De Zerbi, who worked with the centre-forward during his time in England, keen for a reunion at the Vélodrome. However, there could be some significant competition with Arsenal, Fulham, and West Ham all interested in the player.
Ferguson is a major target for OM, however, there are others as the Ligue 1 club look to replace Elye Wahi, whose move to Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed.
