The Real Sociedad star is having second thoughts
Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi regrets rejecting a summer move to Liverpool and has asked the Reds to make a new transfer approach, according to reports.
Liverpool triggered Zubimendi's £52million release clause during the transfer window only to see the player opt to stay at his boyhood club.
According to reports at the time, Zubimendi had told Liverpool he would join only to change his mind following talks with club manager Imanol Alguacil.
It was an early blow for new Reds manager Arne Slot, who wanted the 25-year-old as a long-term successor to Fabinho but has gone on to use Ryan Gravenberch in the No6 role to success.

Zubimendi, though, has not given up hope of a future move to Liverpool. According to Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo he has told Liverpool to try and sign him again.
Sociedad president Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay recently addressed the player's future.
"There has been no conversation with Zubimendi to renew the contract," he told Noticias de Gipuzkoa. "There has not been now and there has not been before. He did not put any conditions on us.
"He understood the moment and knew that it was a market in which some players were already going to leave, and he understood that it was a time to stay at Real Sociedad.
"He has not put a renewal as a condition nor have we talked about it. The conversation with Martín was short and quick."
