Roma defender Mats Hummels spoke to the capital club about tonight’s showdown with Tottenham.
As one of the team’s veterans, Hummels highlighted the importance of tonight’s match.
“We have to prepare ourselves as best we can physically and mentally,” said Hummels.
“We have seen videos of Tottenham, it is a very important and very difficult match. At the moment they are one of the strongest teams in Europe, they are a very good team, they play very well and it will be tough for us.”
“How do I feel? In the 45 minutes against Napoli I felt good I didn’t feel tired at all after playing the second half so I think I can play even more minutes if the coach wants.”
“As for the match rhythm, I’m not 100% yet since I haven’t played for 6 months, but my condition is good.”
“Tomorrow I will have to do my job and try to win the duels,” he added. “We will have to stay calm when we win the ball back because Tottenham will press us a lot and will be aggressive.”
“We will have to stay calm in possession without losing our heads and without losing sight of our objective. It will be important to try to avoid their pressing and I will help the team to do that.”
