Mbappe happy after Real Madrid’s comeback 4-1 win vs Las Palmas – ‘Team’s reaction was top notch’ | OneFootball

Kylian Mbappe was the main protagonist for Real Madrid as they secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Las Palmas.

The Frenchman scored two important goals, helping Real Madrid secure a win that could go a long way in consolidating their position at the top of the league table.

Following the crucial win, Mbappe addressed the official Real Madrid club media, where he discussed the victory as well as the support at Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking about the victory and the importance that the result carries, especially after Barcelona and Atletico Madrid had dropped points on Saturday, Mbappe said:

“It was an important game for us. We knew what happened yesterday with Atletico’s defeat and Barcelona’s draw and we wanted to win.

“We started badly because we conceded an early goal, but the team’s reaction was top notch. We looked for spaces and played quickly and with quality.”

Continuing, he added: “We scored a lot of goals, we are happy and we hope that the Madrid fans enjoyed today’s game. We won a very important game and now we depend on ourselves in the competition because we are first.”

Mbappe received a rousing reception from the Bernabeu, on account of his exceptional display against the Canaries.

The Frenchman confessed he was overjoyed by the support he received from the fans.

“It is always a dream to be applauded by this stadium. I am very happy, I have adapted to the team and I can play as I want. Everyone enjoys the team’s performance,” he said.

Talking about the team’s mentality, Mbappe lauded his teammates for having leadership qualities.

“All the Real Madrid players are leaders because it is the best team in the world. We have to be united because we have to win many things. At Real Madrid you always have to win,” he said.

Finally, the former PSG superstar talked about David Alaba, who returned to the pitch for the first time after recovering from a year long injury layoff.

“Incredible. I knew him as a rival. He is a great player. I know it has been difficult for him, but he is an incredible guy and we are very happy. He has a lot of quality and he is going to be an important player for us,” an overjoyed Mbappe concluded.

Alaba’s return will indeed be a massive boon for Real Madrid as they prepare for the gruelling schedule during the second half of the campaign.
