Milan are navigating an injury crisis but aren’t currently plotting to do much in January. The brass believes that the squad is pretty complete both from a quality and quantity standpoint, Sky reports (via OneFootball).
If the Rossoneri make one move, it’ll be a right winger who’s less offensive-minded than Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic. In any case, they need to sell first because their lists are full. Absent that a, a new U-22 player would be able to play in Serie A but not in the Champions League.
Milan could be particularly depleted in the upcoming clash against Roma. Rafael Leao has been diagnosed with a thigh pull after subbing off early against Verona. He’ll be re-evaluated in a week ahead of the Supercoppa.
Alvaro Morata will return after dealing with an illness, while Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic are touch and go after missing time due to muscular problems. Ismael Bennacer has returned to Italy after initially rehabbing his calf tear abroad and recently had his first real practice in months. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Noah Okafor might not make it to Saudi Arabia due to their injuries.
Peak Bennacer would help give Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana a breather from time to time, but there’s no telling how long that’ll take and he’s been untrustworthy health-wise. They already have the player they are supposedly seeking in their squad, Musah, who’s been sound in that role. However, if he moves there permanently, they’ll need a new midfielder, which is something they should be thinking about regardless.
