MN: ‘Missing since November’ – Cardinale will not be present at Supercoppa final

AC Milan could win their first trophy of the Gerry Cardinale era on Monday, but the owner will not be in Riyadh for the fixture, which is not uncommon for him.

The Cardinale era has yet to take off, and there have often been gripes with the way things have gone under the American businessman. Not only are Milan trophyless, but results on the pitch have seemed secondary to the numbers off of it.

Frustrations have risen for supporters, and in recent weeks there have been numerous protests against Cardinale inside stadia, and outside – which we saw for the 125th-anniversary event.

It is not a one-way thing though, and reports have suggested that the owner has grown frustrated at the recent protests, especially after extending his vendor loan on the club – which he had hoped would strengthen his situation.

In the lead-up to the tournament, it was suggested that the owner is desperate for a first trophy, and with the Diavolo in the final of the Supercoppa Italiana, it is a possibility that 2025 could be the start of a new era for the club, especially with the appointment of Sergio Conceicao.

However, the owner will not be present to watch things unfold, as Milan News report. The American has ‘been missing since November’ with his last game coming against Madrid in the Champions League, and he will not be in Riyadh to see any possible success against Inter.

Geoffrey Moncada, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Giorgio Furlani will, therefore, represent the club’s management, as the report cites from Sportmediaset.
