Napoli director Giovanni Manna explained his position on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and addressed a few more Napoli-related topics while attending the Social Football Summit (via Ansa).
“We want to reward his journey with us because he deserves it beyond the fact that he’s under contract for two more seasons past this one. We aim to recognize what he’s done. Then, it’s clear that there are many dynamics in play. We have to reach an agreement on everything. We don’t live this saga with pressure, we’re extremely coherent and carry on our ideas. There’s no timetable to finalize it. We’ve spoken with his camp, and we’ll put pen to paper if they concur. Otherwise, we’ll revisit things in June.”
Manna suggested that Napoli could be active in January but wouldn’t splurge.
“If there are good opportunities, we’ll surely seize them. But we won’t pull off coups as we have invested a lot during the summer. We won’t do deals just because.”
The official praised Antonio Conte.
“Choosing the right coach was key. I’m 36, and he helped in some things, like dealing with the president and the squad. I talk with him daily. He was also hired to protect me. He didn’t accept right away and wanted to know the squad and discussed the economic project with the owner. His first demand was to keep Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Kvaratskhelia.”
Manna commented on Victor Osimhen.
Saiba mais sobre o veículo“We had to sell him last summer because he wanted to go. I’m not saying anything new. We didn’t succeed but, since Napoli had worked well in previous years, we managed to have a good window anyway. Romelu Lukaku is different, but he makes the difference and has a positive attitude.”
