The Blues have been draw in Group C with Mexico’s Club Leon, Brazilian outfit Flamengo and ES Tunis of Tunisia, teams which in theory shouldn’t give them many problems.

Chelsea are expecting Maresca to go on a deep run in the competition, and it represents another chance at silverware alongside the Conference League.

John Terry thinks it will be a good experience for the Chelsea squad, with the Blues facing the possibility of coming up against the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the knockout rounds.

Chelsea are looking to get transfer business done early and new signing Dario Essugo is set to be available for the competition along with Kendry Paez and Andrey Santos.

The Blues will need all options possible available to navigate the tournament after a gruelling Premier League campaign.

However, Maresca has revealed he’s excited for the competition and the Blues have a huge motivation to win in America.

“We have a fantastic motivation [to win the Club World Cup], that’s what you need to see it as, as a source of motivation,” he said as quoted by Give Me Sport.
