Experienced ace Stefan de Vrij reminded Inter Milan that Feyenoord beat AC Milan and Bayern Munich ahead of their Champions League tie.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, the 33-year-old confirmed it’ll be a ‘special’ occasion for him.
Indeed, Stefan de Vrij came through the ranks at De Kuip before making his senior debut for Feyenoord in 2009.
Five years later, he left his homeland to join Lazio.
After four years at the Stadio Olimpico, he swapped allegiances in Serie A, linking up with Inter in the summer of 2018.
During his seven-year stint at Giuseppe Meazza, De Vrij has won seven major trophies, including two Serie A titles.
However, returning to Rotterdam brings a sense of nostalgia for the veteran center-back.
“For me, it couldn’t have gone better, it will be very special. I’m very happy to return here,” De Vrij admitted.
With Simone Inzaghi missing numerous defenders, De Vrij will probably start the game against his old club.
“I speak from experience, I know what it’s like to play in this environment and for these fans,” De Vrij added.
“In the Champions League, they manage to bring out something extra, they’ve beaten Bayern and Milan.

“It will be a very tough match.”
Meanwhile, De Vrij confirmed Inter learned how to deal with a favorite tag.
“Certainly, every game we play, we play to win, and it will be no different in these two.
“We are aware of our strength and the quality we have, and we want to show it.
“We focus on all aspects of the game.
“But so far we’ve done well defensively in the Champions League, and we want to prove that again tomorrow.”
