An up-and-coming member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was recently called up to first-team training for the very first time.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Max Bonfill as the player in question.
Bonfill, for his part, is a highly-regarded 18-year-old shot-stopper, who is currently plying his trade with Juvenil B.
The youngster was back in competitive action on Saturday, featuring from the off in a 3-1 Barcelona victory over Poble Sec.
And as alluded to above, soon after, Bonfill was rewarded with what no doubt proved to be something of a surreal experience for the Spaniard.
This comes amid confirmation that he was called up by Hansi Flick and his coaching staff to first-team training at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
With Ander Astralaga sidelined, and both Diego Kochen and Áron Yaakobishvili in action, Bonfill joined Wojciech Szczęsny and Iñaki Peña as the third goalkeeper in Flick’s training setup.
As much comes amid ongoing preparations for the Blaugrana’s Champions League showdown with Benfica on Tuesday.
