The winter transfer window came and went, and Maghnes Akliouche remained at AS Monaco. However, with summer approaching, interest in the Frenchman is expected to heat up, and it will be interesting to see if a move tempts him.
Last December, CaughtOffside reported that RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Inter Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, and Newcastle United were all pursuing Akliouche.
Of those clubs, Manchester City have shown the most concrete interest. Despite the rumors, no deal materialized in January, but Akliouche is well aware of the attention he’s attracting ahead of the summer window.
For now, Monaco have no plans to sell unless they receive an offer of at least €60 million. Nonetheless, Akliouche’s future is back in the spotlight with the summer transfer window on the horizon.

On Sunday, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reported that Newcastle United scouted France U21’s 5-3 win over England during the international break.
Sporting director Paul Mitchell is said to be a key figure behind the club’s interest, with the French winger now a serious option for their right-sided attack.
TBR Football also claims that Akliouche is open to a move to St. James’ Park, which could be an important factor in any potential deal.
Newcastle also used the match to keep an eye on Villarreal striker Thierno Barry, another player they admire.
