Eintracht Frankfurt and Nnamdi Collins have agreed an early two-year extension to the contract, taking his deal to 2030.

Eintracht Frankfurt have tied down another talented young professional for the long term. After Noah Fenyö and Hugo Larsson both extended their contracts until 2029 in the autumn and Kaua Santos until 2030, Nnamdi Collins has also committed to the club until 2030. His original deal was valid until 2028.

Collins moved to Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2023 and, after initially impressing for the U21 team, he became a regular fixture in the first-team squad towards the end of last season. The defender made his senior debut against SV Werder Bremen in April. At the end of his first year, he had two Bundesliga appearances and 16 Regionalliga games to his name.

The 20-year-old has continued to establish himself in head coach Dino Toppmöller’s squad since pre-season this year and, with three exceptions in the Bundesliga in October, has been in every matchday squad. Collins has made 11 appearances across all competitions this term, seven of them from the start. He also received his first call-up to the German U21 side in November and started two matches.

Sporting director Timmo Hardung said: “Nnamdi Collins is a very good example of how reliably we as a club are now able to show young talents a clear development plan and put it into practice. Nnamdi has worked hard since he’s been here and has shown the necessary patience and willingness. His performances at this level are the result of day-to-day work in training. At the same time, Nnamdi and we know that he has further potential, which is why we are all the more pleased to continue on this path together for even longer.”
