Official: Real Madrid squad list against Real Sociedad – No Mbappe, Valverde | OneFootball

Real Madrid will lock horns with Real Sociedad later tonight in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final away at the Reale Arena, hoping to gain an advantage.

The Merengues have not won a cup game away against La Real in 61 years and will be gunning to set that record straight with a win.

However, they will have to do so without some of their most important players as Thibaut Courtois, Kylian Mbappe, and Federico Valverde have all been left out of the squad list by manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Courtois’ absence is not a surprise considering that Andriy Lunin is the designated goalkeeper for the cup competition.

As for Mbappe, he did not train with the team on Tuesday due to some dental problems and the manager has decided to give him a complete rest. Valverde has been rested for the second game in a row, after not playing a single minute vs Girona at the weekend.

Jude Bellingham is back in the squad after missing the weekend clash due to suspension. Youngsters Gonzalo Garcia and Chema Andres have been called up by the manager as well.

Jesus Vallejo misses out due to injury.
