The first month of the year is well and truly behind us and what a month it has been for Real Madrid. The team lost just one match all month and had a 100% record in La Liga in January.

With the end of the month comes the club’s Player of the Month award, and this month the winner is Kylian Mbappé.

Mbappé has really started to settle into life in the Spanish capital, and his eight goals in January are a testament to that.

The highlight of the month for the 26-year-old Frenchman was undoubtedly his hat trick against Real Valladolid in the league, although his brace against Las Palmas stood out too.

Kylian Mbappé is well in with a shout of picking up the ‘Pichichi’ award for the league’s top scorer at the end of the season, as he is currently on 15 goals, just three shy of Robert Lewandowski’s tally of 18.

The matches are set to keep coming thick and fast for Real Madrid over the coming weeks, so fans of Los Blancos will be hoping that Mbappé can carry his great form on into February.
