It seems like Manchester City have now found their form as they have done well in recent game. They netted eight goals against Salford City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Their next game is scheduled against Brentford in the Premier League this week.

The Citizens are sixth on the points table and the realistic chance of defending their league title is almost gone. Hence, Pep Guardiola’s men would like to continue their good form and take that into the Champions League going forward.

Defence

Ederson started the previous game but Stefan Ortega is likely to return between the sticks for this fixture. Matheus Nunes might find himself a bit unluckly to not find a place in the lineup. His position will be filled by Rico Lewis as the right-back.

While Nathan Ake continues at the heart of the defence, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey makes way for Manuel Akanji. Josko Gvardiol is also marking his return as the left full-back.

Midfield

Mateo Kovacic will surely be deployed in the middle of the park to control the tempo of the game.

Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne are operating in the central areas and they will be desperate to leave a major impact on the game.

Bernardo Silva is providing the width from the right flank while in-form Savinho is operating on the other side of the pitch. No wonder who’s leading the attacking pack, it’s none other than Erling Haaland.

Rodri (ACL), Ruben Dias (calf), Oscar Bobb (leg) and John Stones (foot) are confirmed absentees for the Citizens for this game while Kyle Walker is unexpected to be included. The English international has already expressed his will to leave the Etihad Stadium in the coming days.
