Arsenal and Manchester United stars Riccardo Calafiori and Joshua Zirkzee were among those celebrating Bologna’s 1-0 victory over Milan in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.

The Rossoblu picked up their first major title in 51 years thanks to a lone goal from Dan Ndoye, which was enough to win the Coppa Italia for 2024-25, which also comes with qualification to next season’s Europa League.

Calafiori and Zirkzee, along with former head coach Thiago Motta, were among those who left Bologna during the summer transfer window after an impressive campaign that resulted in Champions League qualification for the first time since the 1960s.

The losses of those three individuals was expected to have a significant impact on the Rossoblu squad, but the team have instead gone from strength to strength under Vincenzo Italiano, who is now in line for a contract extension following his cup success.

Calafiori and Zirkzee react to Bologna’s Coppa Italia victory

Both Calafiori and Zirkzee posted photos to their Instagram stories showing that they were watching their former club in their cup final on Wednesday night.

Calafiori sent a message of congratulations to goalscorer Ndoye, while Zirkzee wrote ‘Forza Bologna’ along with a pair of pictures during and after the game.
