Nicolò Fagioli was Football Italia’s MOTM in Fiorentina’s 3-0 over Juventus at the Stadio Franchi.
Below are the player ratings from our reporter at the Stadio Franchi in Florence.
Fiorentina: De Gea 6; Pongracic 7, Pablo Mari 6.5, Ranieri 6.5 (78′ Comuzzo N/A); Dodò 7, Cataldi 7.5 (89′ Adli N/A), Mandragora 7, Fagioli 8 (85′ Folorunsho N/A), Gosens 7.5; Gudmundsson 7.5 (79′ Beltran N/A), Kean 7 (89′ Zaniolo N/A). Coach: Palladino 7.5.
Best Fiorentina player: Fagioli 8 – Once upon a time, there was the Gol dell’ex. Fagioli provided two assists dell’ex for Mandragora and Gudmundsson. Besides that, he bossed the midfield against his former teammates and proved a point to Thiago Motta.
Fiorentina coach: Palladino 7.5 – A perfect game plan and an excellent attitude from his team. Fiorentina won all duels, adapted to Juventus and let them take the ball, causing trouble with deadly counter-attacks.
Juventus: Di Gregorio 6; Kalulu 5, Kelly 4 (74′ Gatti N/A), Veiga 4 (59′ Alberto Costa 5); Weah 4.5 (74′ Conceiçao N(A), Koopmeiners 4.5, Locatelli 4, Thuram 5, McKennie 4; Nico Gonzalez 4 (59′ Cambiaso N/A (86′ Mbangula N/A), Kolo Muani 4.5. Coach: Motta 4.
Best Juventus player: Di Gregorio 6 – Easy to pick this one. No outfield player was up to the task today. Again.
Lowest Juventus rating: This is surely more challenging as there isn’t just one Juventus player at fault, just like last week against Atalanta. Kelly and Veiga were just too soft at the back, allowing Fiorentina to score easy goals when there was still something to play for. The midfield was nonexistent. Kolo Muani made 28 touches, but never towards the right direction. A disaster.
Juventus coach: Motta 4 – Juventus are now one point below the fourth spot, occupied by Bologna. They have conceded seven goals in the last two matches and scored none. His Juventus side was beyond flat. They dominated possession but didn’t create anything meaningful. It has happened many times already this season. His body language was depressing as he spent most of the game with his hands in his pockets. Will he still be the Juventus coach after the break?
