Up next for FC Barcelona is a trip away from home to a ground that has been quite the fortress this season. In La Liga, the Catalan giants will now have to face off against CA Osasuna at the El Sadar stadium. However, it will definitely be a massive test for Barcelona as they look to continue their perfect record.
So far, the Catalan giants have not suffered defeat or dropped any points during the La Liga campaign. However, for Hansi Flick, this game will be yet another huge test that dictates how well his team can continue to face all the hurdles that manage to come between them and the La Liga title.
Here is how Hansi Flick could end up sorting out his starting eleven for the clash between Barcelona and Osasuna.
Expected Lineup:
Goalkeeper: Inaki Pena
While the reports regarding Wojciech Szczesny continue to develop, Inaki Pena will remain the starter for Barcelona at least for now. He managed to keep a clean sheet against Getafe, and this upcoming trip to El Sadar will require him to try his best to repeat that.
Right-back: Jules Kounde
Through his consistent displays that continue to prove that he is one of the world’s best fullbacks at the moment, Jules Kounde has made a name for himself even as a right-back. Against Osasuna, he will likely be tasked with holding the defensive line once again.
Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi
Barça’s young guardian at the back, Pau Cubarsi is the perfect ball-playing central defender that the club needed. Now, after having established himself as a first team starter, he will likely be starting the game against Osasuna as well after starting against Getafe.
Centre-back: Inigo Martinez
The older of the two Spanish sentinels at the back for Barcelona for most of the games this season, Inigo Martinez has been brilliant so far this campaign for Hansi Flick. Beyond just the experience he provides, he continues to play with everything he has to help out his team.
Left-back: Alejandro Balde
While not every game from Alejandro Balde has been an inspired display this season, the upsides of always having his electric qualities on the flank are too great to even consider benching him unless it is to give him some rest.
CDM: Marc Casado
A great balance between offensive contributions and defensive actions is exactly what Marc Casado has managed to find. The 21-year-old Spanish midfielder has already established himself within the first team, and for good reason.
CDM: Eric Garcia
With a solid display last time out alongside Marc Casado, Eric Garcia could find his way back into the starting eleven given that Hansi Flick seems to like making use of him as part of the double pivot.
RAM: Lamine Yamal
The young 17-year-old Barcelona prodigy remains untouchable in Hansi Flick’s team and for good reason. His goal contributions remain surreal but his overall game through his dribbling and his creativity takes the entirety of his team to another level.
CAM: Pedri
Having started off the bench in the previous game, Pedri should be rested up enough to start this clash against Osasuna. His creativity and ability to bypass opposition lines could prove to be vital in a game like the one that is coming up ahead.
Alongside his other two forwards in the attack, Raphinha has been one of the most in-form players in the world at this moment in time. Beyond just his goals and assists, however, his workrate, leadership, and dedication to his team is a major help for his other teammates.
