Borussia Dortmund go in search of their first Bundesliga win of 2025 when they play at Heidenheim on Saturday, but they will have to do without central-defender Nico Schlotterbeck after he was sent for a last-man tackle against Werder Bremen last weekend.

That means a return to the starting line-up for Waldemar Anton in what will be Mike Tullberg’s last game in charge of Die Schwarzgelben with Niko Kovac set to take up his role as head coach on Sunday. Elsewhere, Tullberg confirmed in Friday’s press conference that he has a full squad available – barring Schlotterbeck – but that Kjell Wätjen and Ayman Azhil will play for the U23 team after being in their Champions League squad against Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek.

As for Heidenheim, Frank Schmidt has a decision to make on who plays on the left. Frans Krätzig is more defensive-minded and may be better suited in Heidenheim’s low block against, Dortmund, but Léo Scienza would offer an outlet in a counter-attacking setup by FCH.
