The NUFC side having picked up what could prove to be a very valuable point at Brighton, last time out.

Next up of course is Newcastle v Chelsea on Sunday.

Here is the updated Premier League form table on Thursday 8 May 2025, which covers the past six matches for all teams:

The last six PL results for Newcastle United with very latest one listed first:

Brighton 1 Newcastle 1

Newcastle 3 Ipswich 0

Villa 4 Newcastle 1

Newcastle 5 Palace 0

Newcastle 4 Man U 1

Leicester 0 Newcastle 3

As you can see, Newcastle United are fifth top in this newly updated Premier League form table.

In the Premier League form table over the last half dozen, NUFC with thirteen points from four wins, one draw and one defeat, with seventeen goals scored and six conceded.

As for Newcastle’s opponents on Sunday, these are the last six PL matches that Chelsea have played, the very most recent listed first:

Chelsea 3 Liverpool 1

Chelsea 1 Everton 0

Fulham 1 Chelsea 2

Chelsea 2 Ipswich 2

Brentford 0 Chelsea 0

Chelsea 1 Spurs 0

So Chelsea fourth in the Premier League form table with fourteen points from four wins, two draws and no defeats, scoring nine and conceding four.

This is how the full Premier League table currently now looks on the morning of Thursday 8 May 2025:

As you can see, Palace eight places worse off in the full Premier League table, compared to the form table.

If we extend the Premier League form table to the last 19 matches, it becomes:

Newcastle United: Played 19 Won 13 Drawn 1 Lost 5 (40 points collected)

Brighton: Played 19 Won 8 Drawn 5 Lost 6 (29 points collected)

Newcastle up against a Chelsea side that to me have been carrying the luck, not least when Arne Slot left out six of his ten first choice outfield players against them in that most recent match.

Maresca’s team created next to nothing in their fortunate 1-0 home win over Everton, whilst they were losing at Fulham until the 83rd minute and scored the winner in added time.

I think everything has pretty much gone their way in recent matches and here’s hoping that luck hits a black and white wall on Sunday. Up against a United side who have won their last five Premier League home matches scoring 18 goals.

Looking at the other two opponents to come for Newcastle United, the Premier League form table shows Arsenal have won only two of their last six PL matches and Everton only one of six.
