The fourth edition of the PSG Academy North America Cup, held from 17-20 January 2025, was a resounding success. The event brought together seven PSG Academies from the United States (Phoenix, Los Angeles, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Chicago) and Canada (British Columbia), as nearly 450 talented youngsters and 50 coaches gathered for three days of intense competition.

A unique experience for participants

Held at the PSG Academy USA’s Florida campus, the 2025 edition highlighted the talents of the U8 to U13 categories. The games took place under the watchful eye of Benjamin Houri, Technical Director of the PSG Academy Worldwide, and Didier Domi, the former Paris Saint-Germain player. On the eve of tournament, the participants also got to experience a training session led by Benjamin Houri and Simon Rubinsztjan, the Academy’s Head of Methodology in the United States and Canada. This expert coaching, which brought together players from different academies, helped the participants prepare and build greater cohesion in a dynamic atmosphere.

The state-of-the-art amenities attracted more than 1,500 spectators and ensured an unforgettable event for everyone involved. Completing the off-field experience was a fan zone with official PSG Academy merchandise, photo and makeup booths, as well as interactive entertainment and learning activities for all ages.

New initiatives for coaches

For the first time, a seminar staged in conjunction with the Cup brought together the technical directors and head coaches of the PSG Academies of the United States and Canada. Experts from Paris shared their know-how on key topics such as physical preparation, nutrition and the latest advances in the PSG methodology – as well as how to adapt it locally. The coaches also took part in practice sessions on the pitch with the young talents from the PSG Academy Miami.

Outstanding performances amid a festival of football

Teams from the PSG Academies in Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and British Columbia distinguished themselves by proudly representing their regions and bringing home gold medals. The competition concluded with an awards ceremony and the selection of the players and teams that will represent the United States and Canada at the PSG Academy World Cup in Paris in May 2025.

Since its launch in 2016, the PSG Academy in North America has grown non-stop, bringing together more than 2,500 young footballers and 150 educators trained in the PSG methodology. The PSG Academy North America Cup is a testament to the evolving success of the PSG Academies and embodies the ethos of the club, offering young talent a unique opportunity to enjoy a fully-fledged PSG experience.

Speaking about the event, Valentin Weller, Head of Paris Saint-Germain Academy said: 'I was particularly impressed by the tournament’s exemplary organisation and the management quality provided by all the coaches in the PSG Academy USA network. The enthusiasm and passion shown by the children and their parents during the course of the event is a very promising sign ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup this summer in the United States. We look forward to cheering on our first team there and further strengthening the ties with the PSG Academy community.'
