Lee Kang-in (24) came off late on against Oman in a FIFA World Cup qualifier for South Korea earlier this week. The signs were worrying. The Paris Saint-Germain playmaker came off in tears after suffering the ankle injury in the 85th minute. Unable to walk, he left the stadium on crutches.

As confirmed by his national team manager, Hong Myung-bo, Lee has now returned to Paris. However, the manager also confirmed that the injury was not as bad as was first feared. L’Équipe have now provided more details on the South Korean international’s period of unavailability.

L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi has revealed that the midfielder is likely to miss two weeks of competition. It means that he will miss matches against AS Saint-Étienne and SCO Angers in Ligue 1, as well as a Coupe de France semi-final against USL Dunkerque, however, he will likely be back in time to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League.
