Claudio Ranieri was interviewed by Sport Mediaset on the eve of the Coppa Italia match with Sampdoria.
The veteran technician spoke about tomorrow’s match as well as the January window and Paulo Dybala’s future.
“Against Como we certainly had an unacceptable second half given who we are, and we care about that, just as we care about the Coppa Italia.”
“Roma has won the Coppa Italia nine times, our fans care about us, I care about us and our lads care about us too.”
“But now let’s think about Sampdoria, they’ve changed coach, they’ll all want to show off so it’ll be a game to take with a pinch of salt and we have to be ready to play with intensity.”
“The ownership? I don’t comment on what we say to each other, me and the ownership, it stays between me and the ownership.”
“In January we will be vigilant, with our eyes open,” he added.
“We will bring players who deserve to play for Roma, who improve the team, because if not, if we sign players for the sake of signing them then I frankly don’t care. If we can improve, we improve, if not we continue the way we are.”
“Dybala-Galatasaray? Everyone plays their game, everyone does their job. I’m happy to have him, I’m happy to put him on the pitch when he’s well.”
“But if he has other priorities, both of us need to agree, if the boy doesn’t want to stay then he can leave. I only want players who are happy to be here.”
“Have I gotten the feeling that he wants to leave? No, not at all.”
