Claudio Ranieri spoke to DAZN after Roma’s 1-0 win over Athletic Club Bilbao.
In his post-match interview, Ranieri discussed Artem Dovbyk’s winning goal.
“He needs affection and understanding and we are giving it to him,” he said.
“I am encouraging him, the striker lives for the goal but I told him that it must not be like that because it also takes a spirited performance, of will and determination.”
“You have to be in the right place at the right time. It was important that he unlocked himself and put in a performance like that for the team.”
“I asked the boys to get back up after Thursday’s loss, we have to show the fans that we are here and that we are ready.”
“The league has become very difficult now, in the second half of the season we need another gear. In the end we will see what we can do.”
“Svilar is always ready. We are very happy to be able to rely on him.”
“Dybala? He felt pain in the back of his leg. It shouldn’t be his knee. He’ll have tests tomorrow, let’s hope it’s nothing.”
“We have to continue like this, the other matches won’t be all roses and flowers but with this crowd we can overcome any obstacle.”
