Roma manager Claudio Ranieri did not sound defeated despite the team falling to Atalanta tonight.
The veteran technician spoke highly of his side’s performance and proclaimed himself confident in Roma’s future.
“I complimented the team for how they fought until the last second,” said Ranieri to Sky Sport.
“I said that now there is a period all through December in which we play every four days. There are no easy matches. In fact, the next one will be even more difficult than tonight’s. We must own it and fight.”
“If the team continues to follow me, as they are doing in these games, we will find the key to the problem,” he continued.
“We must continue to fight, we must not surrender to adversity. I don’t like a player who wants to give up: I have never accepted that. We must know how to react and fight for every ball like tonight, until we are exhausted”
“Tonight my changes were all dictated by fatigue and physical pain. So, congratulations to Atalanta, but I want to give a super compliment to Roma.”
