Barcelona star Raphinha was on target to the tune of a brace on Tuesday, to keep alive what has been nothing short of an explosive individual campaign to date.

Afforded a starting berth in Barca’s Champions League showdown with Benfica, the Brazilian first slotted home a fine volleyed finish early on, before picking out the far corner courtesy of a pinpoint driven strike later in the half.

As much has given rise to fresh chatter surrounding a potential Ballon d’Or charge on Raphinha’s part, with his Blaugrana side still going strong in three competitions.

With his latest double this evening, also added to by an assist, Raphinha has taken his goal/assist tally for the term to a whopping 46.

In 41 appearances to date, the 28-year-old has racked up 27 goals, and 19 assists.

Liverpool counterpart Mo Salah, meanwhile, has also taken to the pitch on 41 occasions in 2024/25. And the Egyptian has directly contributed to 54 goals (32G, 22A), eight more than Raphinha.
