Reaction: “Important win” | OneFootball

Board member for sport Markus Krösche, coach Dino Toppmöller and goalscorer Hugo Larsson give their thoughts on the 2-1 win at FC Midtjylland.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “We have 13 points now, which is a phenomenal tally. Nevertheless, we had enough chances here to end the contest earlier. That’s something we still have to learn because a set piece at the end can always lead to a goal and then it finishes 2-2. We have to see it out more professionally. We can do better, particularly in the transitions. The win is important, the table is very tight. I think we still need another four or five points to qualify directly for the round of 16 – that’s our aim.”

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “I’m very pleased with the performance. We did well and executed exactly what we set out to do. We’re on a very good path, we gave little away, defended the set pieces well and did a lot of things well. The goal we conceded was unlucky, whereas we did very well for the goal from Larsson, winning the ball after high pressing. The only point of criticism: we need to score more goals next time.”

Hugo Larsson: “After eight games without defeat, we can safely say: we’re on a roll. There was the international break in between but we wanted to keep the run going with three points. We’ve succeeded in that twice. We have to keep at it. The goal was even nicer for me because my parents and a few friends were in the stadium. My home is only four hours from here. It’s not as special as it is for Rasmus but still a great feeling – especially as it helps us in the competition.”
