Spanish giants Real Madrid nearly stole transfer headlines once again after new reports on Friday suggested Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies agreed to move to the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2025.
Los Blancos have long been linked with the Canadian star in what could be a summer masterstroke.
But for now, the myriad of clubs linked with the services of the 24-year-old will breathe a temporary sigh of relief.
Reports from Spain that claimed Real Madrid reached an agreement for Davies were quickly shot down by the player's agent, Nedal Househ.
He was adamant that terms have yet to be struck between both parties and suggested that an extension with Bayern is still a possibility.
"Done deal with Real Madrid? This is not true," he said on Friday. "Though the player has many options, we have not agreed terms with any club."
"New deal at FC Bayern could also be an option. Any reports suggesting otherwise are incorrect."
Davies, who remains arguably one of the hottest properties on the market as things stand, continues to be linked with interest from both Barcelona and Manchester United.
Barça will notably hope his previous relationship with former manager Hansi Flick could prove decisive.
