Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti hinted on Saturday that he could make use of star attackers Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr. in alternating positions moving forward.
Frontman Mbappé was of course utilised in his favoured role on the left in midweek, as Real Madrid locked horns with Liverpool in the Champions League.
This came amid the injury absence of attacking partner-in-crime Vinícius Jr.
When all was said and done, the Frenchman was singled out for widespread criticism, after his struggles in a central role thus far this season continued out wide at Anfield.
With Vinícius maintaining his status as, by some way, Los Blancos’ most important figure in the final third, it may therefore come as something of a surprise to hear of Carlo Ancelotti hinting at his two key attackers continuing to swap roles moving forward…
Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Real’s La Liga meeting with Getafe on Sunday, Real’s headmaster was drawn on the positioning of Mbappé and Vinícius alike.
And Ancelotti went on to explain:
“I think Vini is realizing through the middle he’s very dangerous. And Mbappé is comfortable on the left…”
