After Trent Alexander-Arnold officially announced that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, it is all but confirmed that the England international will sign for Real Madrid in the summer.
The 26-year-old right-back’s contract at Anfield expires on 30 June at which point he will leave the club as a free agent, with Real Madrid being his next destination.
However, Los Blancos are eager to fast-track Alexander-Arnold’s arrival as they will be involved in the FIFA Club World Cup starting mid-June and are working towards securing his early release from Liverpool.
As such, BBC Sport now reports that Real Madrid are considering offering a nominal fee of €1 million to Liverpool, to secure his early release from the club before the formal expiry of his contract on 30 June.

Real Madrid’s plan is to rope in Alexander-Arnold during this period and as such they have already approached Liverpool to negotiate a deal for the right-back’s early release.
The report states that the Spanish heavyweights are considering paying €1 million (£850,000) as compensation to Liverpool for releasing Alexander-Arnold early from his deal.
In addition, Real Madrid would also be willing to cover the defender’s wages for that period.
Discussions between the two clubs are proceeding in an amicable manner and there is optimism that an agreement could be struck, allowing Alexander-Arnold to feature for Real Madrid as early as next month.
Considering that Dani Carvajal will be returning from a long-term ACL injury and Lucas Vazquez’s performances have not been convincing enough, having Alexander-Arnold at the Club World Cup can be critical for Real Madrid.
