Gyokeres has already scored 31 goals in 29 outings this season so far. He is averaging 4.4 shots, 2.3 key passes, and 1.6 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Swedish striker is versatile to be deployed on the wings and adapt to different styles of play. He is clinical with his finishes around the penalty box. He often drops out of his position to get involved in the build-up play and possess good ball-holding abilities.
Real Madrid started this season with a notable striker in the squad. They brought Kylian Mbappe, who happens to be a left-winger rather than a number nine. The problem is quite evident even though the world-class players always find a way to score.
The Whites will have to bring a proper striker in the near future to make their project sustainable. Hence, they have set their eyes on Viktor Gyokeres, who is very much in demand. He has already proved himself and can be a lethal addition to the unit.
Sporting CP are ready offload the 26-year-old for around €60-70 million. However, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid will go ahead with Gyokeres or put their foot forward towards Erling Haaland, whose release clause will become active this summer.
