La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Saturday evening responded to the awful news stemming from the camp of arch rivals Barcelona.
Developments in Barcelona have of course dominated the headlines across Spain over the course of the evening to date.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that Blaugrana first-team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia had suddenly passed away.
After the club’s scheduled La Liga meeting with Osasuna was postponed out of the blue, Barca unveiled a statement, as follows:
‘FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia this evening. For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date. The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.’
Messages of condolence have since come pouring in for Carles Miñarro Garcia’s family, friends, and all associated with Barcelona.
And as alluded to above, a short time ago, adding their name to this list of well wishes were the Catalans’ biggest rivals.
In an official release across social media on Saturday night, Real Madrid wrote:
‘Real Madrid C.F., its President and Board of Directors are deeply saddened by the death of Carles Miñarro García, doctor of F.C. Barcelona.
‘Real Madrid would like to express its condolences and affection to all his family, his colleagues, F.C. Barcelona and all his loved ones.
‘May he rest in peace.’
