Real Madrid are showing strong interest in securing the services of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate ahead of next season.
According to recent updates from Defensa Central, the Spanish giants are already making plans to strengthen their squad, particularly in defence, and the French centre-back has emerged as a key target.
Despite being focused on the ongoing campaign, Real Madrid are also looking ahead to the summer transfer window. In fact, Florentino Perez is keen to reinforce the defensive line, as injuries have significantly impacted the team this season.
The lack of stability at the back has become a major concern, prompting the club to explore options to bolster their defence.
Konate’s name has gained prominence in the discussions regarding Real Madrid’s future plans. The Liverpool defender has caught the attention of the club’s hierarchy, and they are now seriously considering making a move for him.

While Raul Asencio has stepped up and proven his potential, the club still wants to add an experienced and high-calibre centre-back to the squad.
The French international is under contract with Liverpool until 2026, but Real Madrid see an opportunity to negotiate his transfer.
As he enters the final year of his deal next summer without a renewal in place, the Spanish club believe they could secure his services for a reasonable price.
With just a year left on his contract, Liverpool might be open to discussions rather than risk losing him for free later.
At 25 years old, Konate has established himself as one of the most promising defenders in Europe. His physicality, aerial dominance, and composure on the ball make him a suitable candidate for Real Madrid’s backline.
Additionally, the player himself is reportedly open to the prospect of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Real Madrid seem prepared to make a serious effort to bring Konate to Spain.
Strengthening the defence remains a priority, and the Liverpool centre-back is now among the top targets for the club.
